Googlebot versus MSNBot

schestowitz.comhttp://schestowitz.com/Weblog [schestowitz.com] Wait, wait, wait, you’re blocking MSN bot from using a whole 100mb of bandwidth, because it only sends you 41 hits / month? Who cares, I mean it’s 100mb of bandwidth, just let it send you that wee bit of traffic?

Searchenginegenie.com[Searchenginegenie.com] SEO BLOG: 02/13/2005 - 02/19/2005: We made up some bizarre phrases and added them to the meta description tag, only our site has those phrases, so when we search for those phrases in search engines we dont see the result coming up so mostly google dont use the meta description tags in their algorithm, But google uses snippets of meta description, google indexes the tag and during query time if the relevant words are present in the meta tags they just fetch it and display it, So it never hurts to add the relavant phrases to the page in the description tag, Keywords tag is completely ignored so we can just forget it,

For Blogger and TypePad, see Richard Akerman Science Library Pad post on using Blogdigger for category based RSS feeds).
