Permanent Redirect From Root Links
[Daily SEO » SEO Blog Search Engine Optimization] Search engines treat and evaluate http://domain.com , http://www.domain.com and http://www.domain.com/index.php seperately. So if you have incoming links to your root domain (domain.com) you are losing some great value of incoming links.
Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.
[Avary.com] Avary's Domain - Journal: There's whole libraries of books brought in from every corner of the globe on Viking history, architecture, and custom. There's also the casting sessions of the film, all stored on a secure web portal. It's like watching a house rise up around you -- an incredible feeling.
[Phpkitchen.com] PHP kitchen: Researchers (Hayes, Bloom) have shown it takes about ten years to develop expertise in any of a wide variety of areas, including chess playing, music composition, painting, piano playing, swimming, tennis, and research in neuropsychology and topology. There appear to be no real shortcuts: even Mozart, who was a musical prodigy at age 4, took 13 more years before he began to produce world-class music. In another genre, the Beatles seemed to burst onto the scene with a string of #1 hits and an appearance on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964.
[Michaelgeist.ca] www.MichaelGeist.ca: My weekly Law Bytes column (freely available hyperlinked version, Toronto Star version) focuses on the recent Canadian parliamentary discussion on domain name disputes. As discussed about ten days ago, the impetus for governmental interest in domain name disputes and Internet governance is the registration of several domain names bearing the names of sitting Members of Parliament by the Defend Marriage Coalition, an opponent of same-sex marriage legislation. The resulting websites, which include donboudria.ca and davidmcguinty.ca, include MP contact information, photos, and advocacy materials.
[Philringnalda.com] PHP blogroll: A PHP file which you include in your PHP weblog page, which will produce a dropdown/select menu in javascript-enabled browsers, or a list of links in non-javascript browsers (as seen on philringnalda.com). In either case, the list is sorted in descending order of update, based on when the weblog last pinged weblogs.com or another of blo.gs's sources of update info.
[Blog.citycynic.com] CityCynic.com >>> 2 Letter Domain Names: Forwarding domain. * Re-branded. ** Not in English. *** Ad portal. ~ Domain just added. # New/changed registrant. BACK TO BLOG ...
