SEO Files > Sandbox at MSN?
[Search engine optimization and Online marketing] There is an interesting thread at DigitalPoint, where members are suspecting that MSN has its own sandbox....
Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.
[Seroundtable.com] MSN Search Has the Google Sandbox?: A DigitalPoint forum thread named MSN might have a sandbox, is where some people are suspecting that MSN has its own flavor of the Google Sandbox. The consensus is that either MSN is really smart or has become really slow at indexing new sites. You decide...
[Forums.digitalpoint.com] Any MSN users notice a sandbox Latley: My site has been online since January and still only appears as a basic URL in a few MSN searches. I am starting to wonder whether it is because the server is based here (in Japan). Anyway, it has a lot of links (over 4000 according to MSN), the code checks out and I don't really see why it shouldn't be there when most sites seem to rank in a matter of weeks.
[Forums.digitalpoint.com] MSN might have a sandbox!: My site has been around for a couple months didnt register in the MSN serps except for some really farout keywords that nobody searches. I just ran the keyword tool at DP, and Im now ranked for almost every phrase I could think up. Almost all of them in the top 20. Ill have to start going after more competetive stuff if this worked so easily.
[Forums.digitalpoint.com] MSN Results Biased to IIS servers?: We all know of the sandbox effect on Google which doesn't exist on MSN. So there's your reason why there are more IIS sites in MSN than Google :-P so think before bashing Microsoft for no reason. I like them a lot more than Google. Google even tries to introduce Smart Tags now which Microsoft wasn't "allowed" to so better bash them!
[Forums.digitalpoint.com] MSN might have a sandbox!: It seems to me that there may well me an MSN sandbox (from similar stories I have heard). The difference with the Google version seems to be in scope: Relatively few people seem to have this problem with MSN, whereas G's version gets almost everyone. Just because sites A, B and C were listed and ranked well in days does not mean that site D is not being caught by some filter / sandbox effect.
