If your conversational counterpart hasn't witnessed the Lip Smack before, they'll be temporarily struck dumb. As I mentioned, this effect eventually wears off and they begin to make fun of you. You'll become a caricature of yourself.

Hackaday.com[Hackaday.com] hack a day - www.hackaday.com _: Greasemonkey lets users add their own scripts to web pages they visit. Yeah, I didn’t really jump out my seat when I heard that in January, but then I started to see people apply it. Sure there’s the standard “remove all advertising” hacks and the slightly more interesting “skip full ad pages”, but there is so much more you can do. You can beat stupidly designed web pages into submission: force Ain’t It Cool News headlines to use reasonable font sizes and turn off that stupid highlighting crap, clean up Slashdot’s ugly section colors, replace Pitchfork’s flash menu with text links.

http://blog.larixconsulting.com [Blog.larixconsulting.com] View from the Isle - Professional Blogging & Blog Consulting ...: My take?  I write posts and articles.  I sometimes use them interchangeably, but I tend to say to other bloggers "I have to finish this post..." and non-bloggers "I'm writing an article on...".  And in my mind content is information that I use to create knowledge through my writing--which would be an article.  Now, a quick "post" to me is one of those passing the link along, drawing attention to something great a friend did.  Articles require thought.  Synthesis.  Gisting.  What's my take?  What do I have to add to the conversation.  I often pass on writing about a hot topic if I don't feel that I have anything new to add or it just doesn't light a fire under me.  Sometimes the news is so big, that I might post about in anyway, but I might not take the time to write an article.  So are we journalists?  Yes, I say we are.  Old definitions aside, we are.  When people ask me what I do, I first ask, "Have you heard of blogs?" If I get a blank stare, huh?, or no I say I'm a syndicated online journalist or writer.  It's just easier.  People understand syndicated writers or journalists.  The online part takes a little explaining.

[Macdad.blogspot.com] MacDad: Star Wars Episode III took you through the transformation of Anikan to Darth Vader, the elimination of most of the Jedi, the birth of the Skywalker twins, and the stage was now really set for Episode IV (What Generation X knows as the first Star Wars). Episode III was powerful (I think the best out of the six), but is the Star Wars story now complete? No, the saga continues:
